林嶺森對於自己的創作有一番講述：「我以照相寫實主義為出發，企圖拉近群眾美感的距離，客觀且清晰地把景物凍結再現於畫布上。主要的目的就將現實視覺的信息轉譯於平面作品中，表現自然景色的可塑性與理想化，進而超脫照像寫實的侷限。讓作品簡單易懂，全然的視覺療癒，品味自然之美。」不論何種類型的作品，都充分體現出他對光影、明暗、色彩、濃度的細膩寫實技巧，但除了技法上的突出，畫面的療癒感也是他創作的特色。林嶺森以繪畫記錄他的心之嚮往以及一生行腳，作品一直以來都充滿著平易近人、親切溫和的視覺感受，能簡單地體會到他對世界的美感經驗。近年來在台北國際藝術博覽會、台南藝術博覽會、上海城市藝術博覽會阿波羅畫廊展位上都可以看到林嶺森最新的創作。

LIN Ling-Shen has some talk about his own creation. “I proceed with photographic realism, try to shorten the distance of the aesthetic feeling of the masses, freeze the scene on the canvas objectively and clearly. The main purpose is translating realistic visual information into print works. Showing the plasticity and idealism of natural scenery, and then over the limit of photographic realism, to make the art works easy to understand. Savour the beauty of nature with complete healing of visual.“ Regardless of what kind of art works, all fully reflect his exquisite realistic skills in the shade, light, color,and concentration. Nevertheless, besides the outstanding skills, the healing of pictures are also his characteristic of art works. LIN Ling-Shen records his longing and life by painting,and his art works have been very approachable, cordial and mild. Realizing his aesthetic experience of the world is uncomplicated by his art works.
