「森之襞—志鎌猛台灣首個展」
1948年出生於日本東京的志鎌猛，以富有神祕氣息且帶詩性氛圍的攝影作品著稱，在歐美國家受到高度矚目，並在市場上廣受好評。志鎌猛長期投注於山林的行旅，以及豐富的跨國移動特性，大幅擴展創作者攝影視界的可能性。同時，志鎌猛的所有作品皆由藝術家親手印製，呈現攝影師靈光獨具的特殊性。

在媒材上，志鎌猛亦與其他攝影師迥異，經由大片幅相機(Large format camera)、鉑鈀相印法與日本雁皮紙(gampi)的應用，志鎌猛不僅創造出作品呈現如絲綢般不同深淺灰彩的獨有風格外，更因媒材的質地，使其作品能夠有效避免褪色與刮傷的損害，大幅度加強作品的保存性。

攝影作品中諸多的獨特性，也讓志鎌猛創作被眾藝文單位如法國國家圖書館、聖地牙哥攝影博物館、Brandts攝影博物館、聖巴巴拉美術館、清里攝影藝術博物館、舊金山現代藝術博物館典藏。

此次於大觀藝術空間展出的「森之襞」，為志鎌猛在台灣的首次個展，囊括志鎌猛所有創作系列中的重要作品。志鎌猛深受攝影能捕獲生命中一期一會的特質所影響，試圖藉此捕捉深藏在「可見世界」中的「不可見世界」。作品顯現對於自然最原始的渴望，其中靜謐而神祕的氛圍，實際上就是觀者通往藝術家創作精神脈絡的途徑，同時也是回歸自然母體懷抱的心靈療癒所在。

「森之襞—志鎌猛台灣首個展」將在107年6月9日於大觀藝術空間隆重開幕，展覽時間至107年7月8日止。創作者志鎌猛將於開幕當日蒞臨現場，與臺灣知名攝影師曾敏雄展開精彩對談，現場提供同步口譯，相關資訊與內容請詳見大觀藝術空間臉書粉絲專頁。

“Silent Respiration of Forests – Takeshi Shikama Solo Exhibition”
Born in Tokyo in 1948, Takeshi Shikama is known for his mysterious and poetic photographic prints, which have been most well received in Europe and the US. Having travelled extensively, Shikama has photographed forests and landscape worldwide.
Takeshi Shikama photographs with large format camera and hand-prints with platinum palladium contact printing technique on Japanese gampi paper, which enables the artist to create a silky surface with a wide range tones of grey. Platinum palladium prints do not fade under sun light, and gampi paper is resistant and not prone to scratch, thus the prints could be kept for hundreds of years, making themselves timeless pieces of art.
Shikama’s works are widely collected in public and private collections, including Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Museum of Photographic Arts San Diego, Brandts Museum of Art and Visual Culture, Santa Barbara Museum of Fine Arts, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts.
“Silent Respiration of Forests” is Takeshi Shikama’s first solo exhibition in Taiwan. The exhibited works are taken from some of his most important photographic series. Shikama treasures the once in a life time encounters he experiences in life, and aims to capture the “invisible” within the “visible” world. His works reflect on one’s natural passion for nature, and the desire for the cradle of Mother Nature.
“Silent Respiration of Forests – Takeshi Shikama Solo Exhibition” is to open on Saturday 9th June 2018 and the exhibition will run until Sunday 8th July 2018. The artist himself will be present for the opening reception, where he will discuss his works and experiences with renowned Taiwanese photographer Tseng Miin-Shyong. The conversation will be conducted in Japanese and Chinese with an interpreter. Please refer to Daguan Gallery’s facebook page for further details.
