My love for art was discovered even before I knew how to hold a pencil.
My works include religion, tradition, culture, everyday life, abstracts and self expressions. I work mostly with acrylic and watercolours and I also like wood carvings and traditional paintings. Bhutan is known for being a peaceful nation and never been conquered by others, the environment where we grow up builds up our mental state and being born in Bhutan had always kept me peaceful and calm, influenced by positive attitude and compassion and being down to earth, so my influence are shown in most of my works depicting prayer flags, culture, tradition and rich environment of Bhutan.
Being a self taught artist I have been able to experiment various medium and style of art, here in Bhutan I look up to Asha Kama, the founder of VAST Bhutan. In 2012 I decided to turn myself into a full-time artist despite all challenges ahead, since then I have been able to focus myself on creating art, participating in art exhibitions and workshops and travel to some countries. I have been experimenting a lot of mediums and now I do work mostly on acrylic and watercolours, there are some of of favorite and classic themes but for now doing "prayer flags" in different and contemporary style has been my favorite.
Through art I have been able to see the world from a different perspective, improve my social skills and my own mentality and importance of art. Art has taught me to remain grounded and gives me a purpose in life, now my goal in life is to strive hard and bring out my best works of expression on blank canvases and if possible to make a small contribution in the contemporary art scene in Bhutan. No matter what challenges and obstacles ahead I am fully dedicated to make my dream come true as an artist.
