Asha’s works are known for their social care. The artist is good at using elements of Nepalese religions to reflect local and global issues. His works often depict avatar (incarnation) which combines forms of gods, humans and animals. The artist uses this image to blur the boundaries between human and nature, between the spirituality and the material world. This exhibition displays Asha’s six new paintings of 2021. The common theme of the works, unsurprisingly, is the Covid-19 pandemic which has ravaged the world in the past two years. The works "Migration" and “Humans are Stopped!” not only reflect the restrictions on people's traveling under the pandemic, but also point out that population movement in the era of globalization is the major reason for the rapid spread of the virus. "The Wrathful Himalayas", " The Wrathful of Mt. Everest", and "New Avatar" show the artist's reflection on the relationship between human and nature, as well as express his anger at the insatiable and greedy human nature. "New Beginning during Pandemic" is the artist's profound anticipation for the end of the epidemic, as well as his hope that nature and ecological system can truly revive due to the dramatic reduction of human activities during the pandemic.
