Born in 1976, Dedy SUFRIADI is a leading Indonesian contemporary abstract artist of his generation. His Tabula Rasa series of paintings are driven by the artist's deep intuitive sense, his almost decade-long existentialist philosophy reading, and his more than two-decade-long experience as a visual artist. In this series, Dedy approaches the blank canvas without any plan of what he will create and uses whatever materials he has at his disposal; his long experience as an artist intuitively informs him when "enough" is enough. Dedy is also known for his works that use text as a subject matter and his large scale installations.
