ARTISTS STATEMENT
“Art requires a childlike heart.”
-
I am an intuitive, soul-driven creator. In a quiet world, my instinct to sense others has become a cultivated ability. This makes my creative process honest and direct, allowing the qualities of my work to naturally reflect the childlike emotions within me.
-
My habit of observing people, things, and surroundings has shaped my personal style. The concept of “composite forms” originated from this, emerging through the discovery of symbolic visual language across categories like animals, plants, humans, and man-made objects. These include visual elements such as kissing, puzzles, interlocked fingers, ocean waves, brain textures, soft coral, sea anemones, flowing water, shells, bitter melons, snake movements, orange pulp, grapes, flowers, leaves, citronella, skirt ruffles, lace, mesh, zippers, gears, and more. These seemingly unrelated elements all share a common visual theme: interlacing, cyclical, curving forms. They symbolize connection, growth, movement, protection, and unity. Through creativity, I reconnect and assimilate these everyday memories into a variety of composite forms. Depending on the viewer’s perspective, interpretations shift—the form changes with the gaze. These “composites” represent the birth of new life forms that carry characteristics of the past, but are not replicas—they are redefinitions of life, shaped by inner ideals.
-
“Creation is an internal expression, not just manipulation.”
-
Stone, an inorganic material both heavy and hard, transforms through the fusion of thought and technique into works that carry human warmth. As the stone changes, so do I—each creation is a voice from within. Since DNA predetermines much of who I am, it unconsciously governs my actions and thoughts, which are ultimately manifested in my work. I am my creation, and my creation is me.
-
Stone, to me, is like the human condition—what you give is what you receive. It can be strong yet vulnerable, like the mind and spirit. The colors of stone symbolize my internal states: black for hidden depths, orange for the body, white for pure idealism. This reflects my belief that form follows spirit—that art is a manifestation of inner truth, not mere technique.
