Yarney, or the summer retreat, is a sacred season when monks remain indoors to avoid accidentally harming even the smallest living beings.
Our Olympic ground, too, becomes a shared space during this time — not just for students, but for dogs, cows, goats, and sometimes even passing villagers. It’s a place of play and unpredictability.
During games, we often had to pause, reroute, or simply laugh — because you never knew what kind of surprise might wander onto the field. In a way, it taught us to adapt, to share space with others — human or not — and to find humor in disruption. A kind of everyday compassion, much like Yarney itself.
