《留處 / The Held Place》
Oil on canvas
42 × 35 cm
2025

The Held Place is part of The White Space Project, a series that explores the visual and emotional potential of emptiness.
This piece reflects the idea of being placed—not discarded or left behind, but gently preserved.
In the composition, a visual fracture separates the cliff and the sea, evoking a quiet distance, an emotional divide. The vast, open sky and a solitary bird suggest that space itself can be a vessel for feeling. Rather than focus on landscape details, the painting embraces stillness and blankness, inviting the viewer to find their own place within it—perhaps a shoreline where memory lingers, or a space where longing quietly remains.
This is not a scene of events, but a waiting room for emotion.
A psychological shore, poised between holding on and letting go.
The Held Place is not a destination. It is presence—soft, patient, and always just enough.
