After graduating from Osaka University of Arts, it has been 18 years since he released a work in Torino, Italy, where he is based, based on the theme of Hiroshima, his hometown, and conveying love and peace to the world. Manipulating his unique colors and materials that cannot be created with paint alone, Sakurai's painting style, which is different from the themes he has painted so far, such as discrimination, food, religion, and reconstruction, will continue to fascinate viewers. He has won numerous awards in Italy and Japan, and his works are held in many places such as Museo Roberto Bilotti Ruggi d'Aragona / Cosenza Italy.
