All of the characters depicted in the work are Miyazaki's creations. However, when Miyazaki paints these non-existent people, or those who would have existed, they feel alive.
Miyazaki himself likes old Western paintings and Western culture, so he is particular about materials and techniques, and uses mixed techniques to create his art.
Miyazaki's painting style, as if he himself existed 100 years ago, humorously expresses the relationship and roots of the present age, and will continue to entertain the viewers.
