Wood carving sculptor
Born in Hirosima prefecture. Completed Hiroshima City University Graduated school, Faculty of Arts, Department of Sculpture in 2000. Akiyama creates wood sculptures with animal motifs, focusing on the main theme of fluid "existence" and "phenomena" that change their forms from moment to moment. It is not easy to materialize such fluid and formless phenomena, but he expresses what he feels in his sculptures by comparing the speed of change and the elusive phenomena with the movements of animals and the inner worlds they express.
