ShinichiWakasa(1982-)born in Hiroshima. His sculptural works are a new expression between sculpture and painting, a painting that eliminates the disconnect the artist's and viewer's eyes and allows them to share the same background. His style of fusing three-dimensional and two-dimensional works without making a clear distinction between sculpture and painting is derived from Wakasa's concept of Japanese "Funi-sei" (不二性/ non-duality: a sense of not dividing things too much and valuing the experience of the ethereal), and also shows his maturity in the ideological aspect of his work, as he has continued to dig down the roots of Japanese culture.
