Yuka Umino artwork theme each resembles a body, the personality accompanying it, and the instability within the existence of people. In the unconscious mind capturing the desire, beauty, and expectation in the body of disadvantage.

Yuka believes that art provides us to feel beautiful in this world. We were all born without being given any rights to decide our gender, or circumstances of how our bodies are. However, we hold the prospect to decide our personality.

Yuka looks at the body to be a receptacle of our personality. As she vaguely portrays a body with each of her brush stroke, and colors that are used are to resemble the color of our sensuality and warmth expression. The art resembles to re-evaluate the personality and existence of itself that changes daily, apart from its physical state to extend beyond the boundaries of a body to answer our individual existence.

In the history of oil painting, Delacroix is famously known using the colors of red and green in an expression of a body. Depending on the primary color used fluctuates the movement in his painting. Soutine, a writer whom indirectly inherited Delacroix’s method drowned in the medium of the painting.

Yuka’s looking to advance from that history to establish her own expression through the beauty of struggle to connect a movement in her oil paintings.
