Oky Rey Montha Bukit or familiarly called Montha was born on January 3, 1986 in Yogyakarta, but grew up in the mountainous area of Karo Regency, North Sumatra. Since childhood, Montha is familiar with the world of imagination which is applied mainly to drawing paper. Various painting competitions have been followed and resulted in many awards. Not only that, Montha is also active in solo exhibitions, participating in events, both exhibitions of art groups, and art fairs ranging from national to international levels.
Pop art combined with surrealism is the style chosen to express what he want to convey. as well as a lot of imagination originating from social status and environment into the concept of each work. All issues concerning personal relationships, family, friendship become research material for something universal.
When asked what was interesting to talk about, Montha was more interested in talking about psychoanalysis, psychiatry and humanism. As a free person, he always looks at problems broadly from a different point of view, thus giving birth to interesting solutions from the journey he has been through. The works that are present always contain symbols that are familiar with social developments which are sometimes arranged in full color nuances, but not infrequently are also packaged in minimalist colors depending on the mood of the creator. The simple reason, how to enter and be involved in every development of the times is in accordance with the creation of art to 'live'. This is in accordance with the premise that guides the creation that art is not about "how", but "why" art was created.
