A young and emerging artist from Tabanan, Bali, I Wayan Sarcita Yasa (b. 2000), currently hones his craft at the prestigious Indonesia Institute of the Arts Yogyakarta. Steeped in nostalgic wonderment, his art reflects personal memories and the visceral attempt to retrace and relive childhood experiences. In doing so, Sarcita offers a powerful means of processing emotions for himself and his audience. Whether in the face of sadness, joy, melancholy, or anxiety, his art reflexively guides viewers through their deepest and most hidden thoughts.
