MEMORY, the COLLage of TIME,

在你踏進微貳獨冊時,不知道你有沒有好好看過這面牆,每一年都會為微貳獨冊訂一個主題,而去年一整年的主題是 :「微貳時光屋」。微貳獨冊這個空間就像是一塊海綿,吸收著每一位創作者、畫家、作家所帶來的養份,滋養著這個空間。

每年會分為三到四季來畫這面牆,今年總共有三位畫家來參與去年的創作,不希望給大家太多的限制,只給了一個主題讓大家發揮。
除了5月開始的牆面創作用幾何、塊狀來呈現時間的拼圖外,個展中也畫了許多復古的物品,像奶奶的剪刀、或散發香味的複寫紙藏,50cc摩托車。色彩簡單強烈,但也很多可愛的童趣。Bianco Tsai 也非常擅長用手繪物件來表現,有時也透過塊狀、幾何的方式來呈現,卻又將幾何圖形賦予了生命。

MEMORY, the COLLage of Time

When you enter the front door of Way to Read, remember to give the painted walls a glance. Every year, Way to Read would assign a theme for the space, last year the theme was ‘Way to Read Time Capsule’, as the space itself feels like a sponge, quietly soak up the nutrition brought by every maker, painter and writer, nourishing the space.
Each year is divided by three to four sections, artists would be invited to paint temporary murals that are to be enjoyed by the visitors for months. From this kind of process, the walls gradually build up layers of paint and memories, and become a time based art piece.

Besides featuring geometric shapes and blocks of colours on the mural starting in May this year, the solo show featured many illustrations of items from the past, like granny’s scissors, nice scented carbon paper, 500cc motorbikes... etc. Vibrant and simplistic palette and childlike joyfulness is what shapes Bianco Tsai’s artistic style, she has the abilities to breath life into rigid geometric shapes.
