Wood, metal, textiles, ceramics—traditional materials and techniques—are returning to contemporary art!

Once labeled as traditional and conservative, even “exiled” to the margins, these materials and methods are regaining recognition in 2025. Perhaps this resurgence relates to the rapid rise of AI-generated imagery, which has, in turn, reawakened a visual consciousness and renewed appreciation for the physicality and tactile aesthetics of art.

This time, Ever 日升月鴻畫廊 Ever Harvest Art Gallery features works by four contemporary artists—Ju Ming, Hsu Yunghsu, Lee Jae-Hyo, and Park Seung-Mo—who, with sharp intuition, subvert the conventional impressions of materials like wood, clay, and metal. Solidity meets lightness; structure intertwines with fluidity. Through repeated deconstruction and reconstruction, the works shape a distinctive visual tension. Traditional materials and techniques are infused with contemporary significance, bridging the past and the present, and enriching the cultural experience of contemporary art in more diverse forms.
