Oil on canvas
“Frankfurt” – it’s tribute to Rene Magritte painting “Golconda”. My reminiscences from Frankfurt airport which is in my mind as the most often visited by me – are mostly as view of dozens of stewardesses around me. It’s only one surreal painting where I paint figures of stewardesses on Frankfurt buildings walls. My figures are like men from “Golconda”, falling down in the air slowly or rather hanging limply. They make a kind of pattern, very ordered and logical. My intention was exactly to show them this way as usually we can see other characteristic groups of people and elements which are the same. Stewardesses have the same appearance but also the same smiles, the same gesture.
