李奈珍1980年出生南韓大田廣域市,2011取得首爾弘益大學藝術博士學位,作品除了參展於國內各地藝術機構,受邀於倫敦、紐約、洛杉磯、東京、新加坡及香港等重要城市畫廊/博覽會展出,曾獲頒2014/2016年Chunyowu展獎、釜山/城山美術館西畫組金獎等,作品典藏於國立現代美術館藝術銀行及國際貿易局。
李奈珍近年以動物肖像繪畫創作活躍於國際藝壇,在主題詮釋上體現了她童年在英國劍橋生活的回憶,筆下的幼崽們身著鑲滿寶石的王冠與項鍊,取靈感自伊莉莎百女王接受加冕儀式時所佩戴的聖愛德華王冠,「欲戴王冠,必承其重」,鮮明象徵隱含年輕世代邁向成年,期待擔憂參半的心理狀態。她透過顏料注入管內,利用擠花手法搭建畫面層次性,再以精巧用色筆法雕琢細節,觀其作品時,彷彿令人感受到時間屏息,停留在最那令人懷想、美好的一刻。
Lee Najin was born in 1980 in Daejeon Gwangyeoksi, South Korea. In 2011, she completed her doctor’s degree in art at Hongik University, Seoul. Her artworks were not only exhibited in art organizations all over the country but also be invited to several galleries and fairs where in the capital cities such as London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Singapore and Hong Kong. She won Chunyowu Exhibition Award and Busan/Sungsan Art Exhibitoin Prize in Western painting and so on. Her works are now possessed by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (2007) and Korea National Museum and Contemporary Art’s Art Bank (2008,2010).
Lee Najin is best known for the animal portraits lately on international art field. Those works were displaying the memories of her childhood in Cambridge, London. Kids in the paintings with crowns and necklaces which were full of gems inlay, and they were inspired by St. Edward's Crown which was the coronation crown worn by Elizabeth II. “Heavy is the head who wears the crown”, shows the mentality that the emotions of expectation and worry were generated from the process of youth to adulthood. The artist applies the skill of drawing the line by squeezing paints with short and long breathing to emphasize the volume and the texture. In addition, she expresses the line-color-form of her works by repeat or circulation to make each extending, transforming, and creating element through the whole movement. While seeing her works, time seems to pause at the nostalgic and wonderful moment.
