一直在做對時間對記憶的溫度的掌握,擅長以工業素材結合編織手法創造新舊的記憶連結。將時間的蒼老及曾經的痕跡停留在某一個刻度裡。利用碳纖維線串連,並將顏料停留在線上,成為一道幽微的影像,似有若無,用冷靜、壓抑、羞澀、並詩意的影像及結構來處理心裡的怦然,透過空間及光影還有片刻的時間來表達對某段時光某個人某件事的念想。 我過往的創作在「歷時性」的思維上時間顯得片面,家人的照片是我創作上圖像的原型。「說再見太難」這件作品是我創作上的一個重要轉折點,刺點的作用仍然真實地發揮召喚的力量,但是,在這件作品的創作過程裡,對記憶可能消逝的恐懼已被轉化,它以懸掛的方式離開了地面,恐懼不再深紮於心了。照片依舊是現今創作圖像的原型,但在共時的心靈裡,誰都沒有離開過誰,我以重構和再書寫的方式為關係尋找生命出路,重新建構了我心中所渴望的與父親的關係及樣態,繼而發展了近期的「紅色吊帶裙」、「她。她」等作品,在共時性的思維裡,過去與現在是同步存在的,並在作品中重塑新的生命關係。 夢想中的紅色吊帶裙是引發我的記憶的一個刺點,應用在我的創作裡,可以說是接觸過往生命經驗的開關;開關重啟後的所有都是我自己要重組及建構的,從memory到wish,刺點一直是我開啟過往經歷的開關,memory是過往經歷的原型,之前的創作想要把那原型留住,現在是以這些原型為重組的基礎,進而發展為心中所嚮往和渴慕的生命關係和型態。
Weaving together the intimate story of time and memory is the core of Liao's work. Liao has expertise in industrial materials, and she combines it with knitting skills to present the connection of memories. Through her unique way of creation, trace from the past has been frozen in the grids. The pigment on the knitted fishing lines left a dim image. To deal with the tickle heart-touching feeling, the dispassionate, oppressive, bashful and poetic images are used in her practice. Her works express a memorable moment through the space, the shade and piece of time. The photographs of my family are my inspiration. My previous work is lack a comprehensive diachronic view. It’s hard to say goodbye is a turning point in my art, the power it summons is efficient. Through the process of making this work, my fear has converted the same as the way I hang the work, away from the ground away from me. In the idea of synchronicity, the past and present exist in the same dimension, Red suspender skirt and Her. Her are made by this concept. I reconstruct and rewrite the relationship I desired with my father. Using my dream red suspender skirt as a trigger, this item is like a switch of my art and my memory. I can reconstruct the past time by resetting the switch, from memory to wish. My past work is the module of my current creation, based on them I am able to process the relationship to what I desire.
