作品敘述
Entang uses a hybridity between humans and rabbits, resembling a cartoon character, evoking mythology and futuristic fantasy with elongated necks in a vast horizon. Ancient Javanese believed that all living creatures, including plants, have souls, and we can sense various forms of life emanating from the fragments of this painting. Indonesia consists of hundreds of ethnic groups, each with its own myths and legends to explain the origins of humanity and the ancestors' interactions with the world of mythology and gods, a complex duality that unfolds in personal narratives. The title unveils nature, as rabbits are generally herbivores (although snowshoe hares eat meat), while facing the grim reality, as cannibalism can occur among malnourished rabbits, especially for water. Rabbits are considered sacred in many cultures. In this work, its essence lies in how to face or have resilience towards extreme situations and conditions in order to survive. This piece reminds us of the changing nature due to global warming.
