Since ancient times, literati and scholars have often poured their emotions into landscapes— mountains, rivers, lakes, and seas. These natural elements serve as metaphors for the present, vessels of hope for the future, and containers for expressing emotions and soothing thoughts. When Cao Zhi 1 passed by the Luo River, memories of his encounter with Lady Zhen stirred his poetic inspiration, and he penned the famous "Ode to the Goddess of the Luo River." Similarly, Huang Gong-Wang, disillusioned with the uncertainties of officialdom, returned to simplicity and painted the renowned "Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains." In contemporary art, the virtuoso Tzu-Chi Yeh, who lived in New York for 19 years and experienced the twists and turns of a wanderer in a foreign land, tasted the intricate nostalgia of leaving home, adding a touch of dispersion to his works. Since his return to Taiwan from New York in 2006, seventeen years have passed, yet he diligently cultivates his art, weaving the myriad facets of his homeland's landscapes with his unique perspective, life experiences, and aesthetics of dispersion, reflecting the artist's mysterious state of mind.

"In the Mist of Mount Hehuan" revolves around the theme of mountains and mist. Enveloping the majestic Mount Hehuans, the ethereal mist descends quietly, permeating every inch of the land, painting the verdant mountaintops white, as a gradual gradient from white to green emerges. As you wander alone amidst the mountains, the mist before you approaches, concealing the path with its hazy allure. For a moment, you may think you've reached the end of the mountain, but as you bravely move forward, you discover another peak standing tall ahead. The trees in the forest sway with the wind, and fir and spruce harmoniously sing their song. When you turn around, you catch a glimpse of a cloud waterfall at Mount Hehuan - a fleeting moment, gone in an instant.

The resolute and unwavering mountains become a stage against the vast expanse of clouds and mist. The mist transforms into an unfathomable spectacle, and the clouds roam freely, waiting for the moisture to disperse, leaving the mountain scenery unchanged. Under Tzu-Chi Yeh's brush, mountains and mist take on a magnificent and mysterious aspect, leading viewers into endless contemplation.
