葉子奇1957年生於台灣花蓮，1987年赴紐約發展，並於1989研讀美國紐約市立大學布魯克林學院藝術研究所碩士。旅居海外創作生活19年，於2006年回歸定居花蓮。離散與回歸的歷程，跨文化的時空背景，使他的作品富饒理性哲思與感性抒發。葉子奇的畫作有著威尼斯畫派古典而飽和的色彩、現代極簡的構圖，又帶著東方詩意的幽邈深邃，為觀者擺上揉合東西方美學的至美視覺語彙。
葉子奇以畫來寫日記，紀錄與每個景與物相遇的心情與感悟。不論是風景或靜物畫，都彷彿是內心獨白的投射，我們藉著藝術家的創作，去探索、去解讀這未知奧秘的宇宙。觀看葉子奇的畫作，如同實地走訪、遊歷山川百岳，又如同發覺微不足道的日常。一片枯葉、一朵茶花、一瓣橘皮，或是蓊鬱的山頭、茂密的樹冠、多變的海洋，不論是宏觀或微觀的主題，皆能與觀者心靈狀態共鳴共振，感知自然運作的規律。

Tzu-Chi Yeh was born in Hualien, Taiwan, in 1957. In 1987, he embarked on a journey to New York to pursue his studies, and in 1989, he earned a Master's degree from the Art Research Institute at the Brooklyn College of the City University of New York. After spending 19 years living and creating abroad, he finally returned to his hometown- Hualien in 2006. The process of dispersion and homecoming, set against a backdrop of cross-cultural experiences, imbued his works with abundant rational philosophy and expressive emotions.
Tzu-Chi Yeh's paintings emanate a classical and vibrant color palette reminiscent of the Venetian school, juxtaposed with modern minimalist compositions, all while carrying an enigmatic depth infused with Eastern poetic sentiment. They present viewers with a harmonious fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics, creating a sublime visual language.
His art serves as a diary, capturing the emotions and insights from encounters with various landscapes and objects.
