In the popular Japanese cartoon “Doraemon”, the gadget that I cherish the most, besides the Anywhere Door, is the Take-copter. In this cartoon, characters can fly anywhere just by wearing the Take-copter on their heads. Although this might seem to defy the laws of science and physics, emotionally, what the take-copter brings to the table, is limitless imagination. Taking inspiration from the cartoon’s take-copter, wearing a golden propeller upon its head, the figure and pose are a mix of cartoonish and fairytale-like features. The stationary sculpture seems to be waiting to catch an updraft, dreaming of the moment it will take flight.
