陳肇彤 簡介
1991年出生於台灣台南,畢業於國立臺北藝術大學美術系碩士班。近期關注於日常中的自然規律,與為了補足自然不足而衍生出的功能性人造物,這兩者間有著對比的調性與曖昧的關係。作品藉由物體及場域的再製來呈現出「偽」的狀態,偽光線、偽循環、偽自然等,透過這種永遠無法達到真實的再製,除了呈現荒謬的狀態,也試圖讓觀者重新思考自然與人為之間的拉扯及平衡。
展覽論述
銀幕是個載體,卻非透過裝載來創造價值
銀亮的光澤中,拋棄光源、拋棄明暗
銀幕的露面,都是演出,潔淨的表面、銀亮的誓詞
這是身為銀色所堅持的教條
把情感、話語透過那銀色簾幕,原封不動的寄給自己
不用山盟海誓的白紙黑字
因為黑與白終究會融為太極,相互抵銷
銀孤高的血統,找不到互補與分支
黑加白調出的是灰,而銀就是銀
車窗的影像不斷地變換,近的漸漸變遠,遠方依舊在那
遠方是距離的比較,眼前看得到的不會遠,看不到的也不會近
儀表的數字伴隨著引擎的轟隆聲轉動
緊接在9後面的是0
機械及電腦可調、可控的真諦就在這裡
有時轉多點,有時少點
我們都將明白,遠方絕不是數字的競賽
那個想像中還未到的
叫做「遠方」
Artist Statement
Though a carrier, the silver screen does not create value by carrying.
In its silver luster, sources of light and degrees of brightness are disregarded.
Its every appearance is a performance, with a clean surface and a silver oath.
This is the creed the silver color upholds.
Through the silver screen, all feelings and words are faithfully delivered to oneself.
There is no need for solemn pledges in black and white
As black and white will eventually blend into Taiji and offset each other.
With its exclusive lineage, silver finds no complement or counterpart.
Black and white make gray, while silver is always silver.
The scenes outside car windows are constantly changing; what’s close gradually becomes distant and what’s distant
remains distant.
Distantness is a relative sense of distance. What you can see in front of you is not distant, and what you can't see is
not close.
The numbers on the dashboard keep rolling alongside the roars of the engine.
What comes immediately after 9 is 0.
This is the true essence of adjustability and controllability of machinery and computers
Sometimes more; sometimes less.
We will all come to understand that distantness is not a race of numbers
What’s not attained in our imagination
Is called the "Distant End".
