▎展覽介紹：
「網路」自發明以來即扮演著資訊流通與傳遞的重要媒介，並隨時間遞嬗嵌入你我生活之中。它既是平庸的日常工具，也是革命性的發明；是新穎有趣的介面，卻也是使人麻木且百無聊賴的根源；是創新資訊源，又是分散人們注意力的病灶。這些連通了虛擬空間與物理現實的資訊流，在虛實交錯的空間中不斷地更新，維繫著人與人之間的情感、聚合著人與物作為連結實體的群體意識。當日漸縮小的裝置逐漸成為我們身體與意識的延伸，有關虛擬與現實界線消融的討論又再次浮上檯面。
學者全喜卿在她的著作《更新以保持不變：習慣的新媒介》中提出「美好弔詭」(The Wonderful Creepiness) 一詞，點出在數位性(digitality)中伴隨連結能力(connectivity)而來的美好，同時卻也令人焦慮的雙重特性。我們應如何與介於線上與線下之間的混種物(hybridity)共存？網路與數位科技所帶給我們的，是一個能夠逃脫現實的共融烏托邦，亦或是一個隔絕現實並因其隱匿性而佈滿監控的危險地帶？（科技）物是如何在被使用的過程中，創建出人機互動間的微妙親密與疏離感，讓我們對其充滿期待卻又如此悲觀？
本次展覽呈現將透過一系列環繞於網路與其衍生物的藝術實踐，經由文化研究、科技應用與群眾參與，來探討當今網路與數位科技的多重面向，並延伸至人與（科技）物的糾纏關係。藝術家紀柏豪、張孟泰與余香瑩的四件作品利用創新數位科技，如 3D 掃描、網頁VR及混合實境等技術，試圖再現疫情影響下介於可見與不可見之間的連通性與想像網路，以不同角度來回應今日人人皆深陷其中的虛實交纏羈絆。
▎藝術家介紹
▪紀柏豪
紀柏豪是來自台灣的藝術工作者，現為「融聲創意」負責人，並於麻省理工學院「藝術、文化與科技」項目進修。兼具經濟學與音樂背景，他的藝術實踐大多源自於對規則與邊界的好奇，常經由觀察日常生活中的差異來設計方法。近期主要關注方向為被連結實體如何在網絡中共構彼此，以及人與科技物的能動性與協同可能。他曾於荷蘭V2動態媒體中心(2014)、西班牙Laboral藝術與創意產業中心(2016)、英國FACT藝術與創意科技基金會(2018)等科技藝術機構駐村，2019年獲選為國家兩廳院短期駐館藝術家，作品與合作項目曾於國內外諸多藝術場館及活動中呈現。
▪張孟泰
張孟泰為一名跨學科藝術家，生於中國石家莊，為Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 在讀博士生。他畢業於倫敦大學金匠學院主修藝術，並獲有哥倫比亞大學聲音藝術碩士與紐約大學視覺藝術學院碩士學位。他的創作與研究目前集中於沉浸式影像和聲音裝置。他的作品於國際間展出，曾參與周大福合作跨界珠寶首飾設計和「紐約紐約時尚跨界藝術展」並展於2019年紐約時裝週、2019年和2018年國際電腦音樂大會(ICMC)、2018年音樂表達新界面(NIME)以及紐約電子音樂節(NYCEMF)等。
▪余香瑩
創作者，研究員，教育工作者。紐約新當代博物館(New Museum)隸屬的科技文化創育中心(NEW INC)的一員。過去三年受聘於哥倫比亞大學新聞所，曾任紐約大學藝術與互動科技駐校研究員。創作主要藉由新興影像科技的特性(如攝影製圖術)探索參與式創作及身體經驗體現。

▎Introduction
The Internet has been an important medium for the spread and transmission of information since its invention embedded in our lives over time.. It is a banal everyday tool and a revolutionary invention; a new and interesting interface, but also a root causing numbness and boredom;; an innovative source of information yet a disease that distracts people's attention. The constantly updating flows that connect virtual space and physical reality sustain the interpersonal emotions and the collective consciousness of people and things as networked entities. As the shrinking devices gradually become extensions of our bodies and consciousness, the discussion of the dissolving boundary between the virtual and the real emerges again.
Scholar Wendy Chun used the term "The Wonderful Creepiness" in her book "Updating to Remain the Same: Habitual New Media." She describes the duplicity of the internet, the wonderfulness and the creepiness, and attributed to its connectivity of digitality. Can the Internet and new technology picture an idea of Utopia? Or is it a dangerous zone that is isolated from reality and is full of surveillance and alert with its invisibility? How do new media technology create the subtle intimacy and alienation between human and machine interaction in the process of being used, leading both expectation and pessimism?
Through contemporary practices, the exhibition "The Wonderful Creepiness" explores multiple dimensions of the Internet and digital technology, and extends it to the intertwined relationship between human and (technology) artifacts. Artists Chi Po Hao, Meng Tai Zhang and Rosalie Yu, used tools such as 3D scanning and XR to represent or reshape the future of the Internet in this digital era under the influence of the epidemic, echoing the entanglement of reality that no one can escape.
▎Artists
▪Po-Hao Chi
Po-Hao Chi is an artist from Taiwan, the head of the “Zone Sound Creative” studio, and a current student in the “Art, Culture and Technology” program at MIT. Based on economics and music backgrounds, his practice usually stems from the fascination of boundaries and guidelines, implemented by designing methods to associate relevance from observing the diversities. His recent research is about the agencies and collaborative capacities between humans and artifacts, investigating how human and non-human co-constituted each other with digitality. He was granted residencies in organizations focusing on technology and arts, including V2_Institute of Unstable Media(Rotterdam, 2014), Laboral Centro de Arte(Gijon, 2016), Foundation for Art and Creative Technology(Liverpool, 2018). He is the resident artist of Taiwan National Theater and Concert Hall in 2019. His works and collaborative projects have been presented in various art venues and events at home and abroad.
▪Mengtai Zhang
Mengtai Zhang is a multidisciplinary artist born in Shijiazhuang, China, and currently lives in New York. He holds a BA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths, University of London, and an MFA Fine Arts at School of Visual Arts and an MFA Sound Art at Columbia University and. Employing sculpture, sound and video, his works create ambivalent allegories of power, where personal and sociopolitical factors encounter each other. Mengtai's works have been presented internationally, including, New Interfaces for Musical Expression (Virginia Tech, US), International Computer Music Conference (Daegu, Korea), Sound and Music Computing (Espoo, Finland), SNAP (Shanghai, China), and NYCEMF (NY) etc.
▪Rosalie Yu
Rosalie Yu is an artist and researcher based in New York and Taipei. She experiments with feminist interventions into the processes of emerging phototechnics and digitizing technology, many of which involve participatory experiences and artifacts.
