「嶄新的一天」是2018年展開的系列創作，這些作品是在全球疫情當中繪製，人類處於隔離與極度恐懼的狀態之下，開始意識到我們需要更多的盼望。這些作品描繪的不是實景，而是關於海與天空以及光的深層記憶—探索美與希望的過程。
靈感就來自於我家附近的海灘，每天日出前後的美麗時刻，在我的記憶中，微弱的金色日光轉瞬即逝，渲染成一片淡紫色的天空，和微光閃耀的沙粒互相輝映的光彩，成為作品上層疊的靈感。每天為作品敷上礦物顏料的過程中，我試圖捕捉自然界的本質，同時追尋充滿盼望的經歷。
我使用天然礦物顏料、沙子、大理石粉末、玻璃、桑樹纖維、牡蠣殼粉末以及金銀箔，敷上這些一層又一層的材料，就像進入安靜的例行禱告過程一般，如畫的天空與大海的波瀾為嶄新的一天敞開道路，真實的盼望也許隱而未見，但肯定已經在我們的未來之中。

Part of an ongoing series titled New Mornings, started in 2018, the works included in this exhibition were created during the pandemic. In a time of deep isolation, fear and divisiveness, there is also an awakening of the need for hope. These are not scenes but rather intimate recollections of light, sea and sky - records of discoveries, beauty and hope.
Directly, inspired by the moments around sunrise at the beach near my home, the work is painted from memory. Fleeting moments of faint golden light, washes of pale lavender across the sky and the momentary brilliance of the shimmering sand, provide inspiration for each layer within the works. Painting one layer on each painting per day, I try to capture the essence of the natural surroundings and the experience of searching for hope.
Layer upon layer of materials such as natural mineral pigments, sand, marble dust, glass, hand-beaten paper mulberry fiber, aged and pulverized oyster shells and silver and gold leaf are applied daily like entries in a journal and prayers offered in silence. Abstractions of sky and the surge of the sea make way for the oncoming light of a new day. True hope is beyond what is seen but certainly within our grasp.
