■ 關於展覽

羅蘭巴特在《符號帝國》將語言描述為一種空無，因為語言並沒有固定的本體，而是一個空的符號。於是語言的傳遞似乎就賦予了符號無限的可能性，這種可能性是超越語言的，就像我們常常形容的某些感受是「 語言難以表達的 」。

瑞士心理學家 Carl Gustav Jung 曾說：「孤獨的原因不來自於身旁沒有人，而來自於擁有對自己很重要的事情卻無法跟他人溝通。」除了語言，我們是否還有其他能傳遞心意或與他人溝通的方式？藝術家 Anna Tsai 在《 漂泊 · 失語 》個展中以自身在溫哥華留學的經驗為創作靈感，將曾經難以跨越語言鴻溝的焦慮及挫敗轉化為藝術符號，試圖尋找人與人之間溝通媒介的各種可能，探索每一段與人的關係中，那個無法以文字解釋、超越語言的力量。

Roland Barthes described language as a kind of emptiness in "L＆#039;empire des Signes", because language does not have a fixed ontology, but an empty sign. Therefore, the transmission of language seems to endow symbols with infinite possibilities, which are beyond language , as we often describe certain feelings as "language is difficult to express".

Swiss psychologist Carl Gustav Jung said: " Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to oneself." Apart from language, do we have other ways to convey our feelings? or the way we communicate with others?

In the solo exhibition "Lost In Translation", the artist Anna Tsai took her own experience of studying abroad in Vancouver as inspiration, transformed the anxiety and frustration that had been difficult to cross the language gap into her own art symbols, and tried to find various possibilities of communication media between people, explore the power that cannot be explained in words from every relationships with human.

Anna Tsai 臺灣｜新北人

畢業於溫哥華電影學。創作類型以錄像藝術、聲音藝術和複合媒材為主。她的作品往往源於個人經驗及情感，再將其擴展為大眾普遍在乎的問題，像是生活、時間、記憶和情感關係。


Taiwan based.

An Independent artist, sound artist. Graduated from Vancouver Film School, committed to create video art, sound art, and mixed media. Her works often emerges from a personal experience or emotion which she expands into universal human concerns such as life, time, memory and intimacy.
