Lin Hao-Bai＆#039;s subject matter has evolved from still life to urban landscape, with variations of light as the focus of his recent work: the break of dawn, the scorching noon sun, twilight at dusk, or lights of the night all appear in his paintings. This observation of light is reflected in his earlier still life, however, recent works also include backlit and overhead lighting, resulting in a robust visual atmosphere. "Encounters with Light" is Lin＆#039;s latest research on light, but it also represents disparate forms of encounters, balancing the phenomenon of the object with his skillfulness in composition.
