【‘The Space in Between ’ Françoise Pétrovitch Solo Exhibition】
德鴻畫廊今年的最後一檔個展，也是首次和法國藝術家Françoise Pétrovitc合作她在台灣的第一場展覽。展名「The Space in Between」首次出現在巴黎浪漫生活博物館舉辦的個展。策展人蓋爾·裡奧（Gaëlle Rio）將其作為展覽的一部份，準確地描述了藝術家在繪畫中所創造的空間，一個介於人與人之間與周遭環境的模糊地帶。
這個空間通常以寬大的筆觸描繪，沒有錯覺或透視。在少即是多的狀態下，藝術家建構出純粹的繪畫維度，一種沉默的藝術。透過顏料、紙張和寂靜構成的「中介」（In-Between）空間，表現了兩個角色間的空白，一種令人捉摸不定的狀態。這些看似毫無敘事的留白，為觀者留下無限的遐想，在人物之間，畫作之間尋找答案。
The last solo exhibition of Der-Horng Art Gallery for this year, and it is also the first cooperation with French artist, Françoise Pétrovitch for her inaugural exhibition in Taiwan. The title “The Space in Between” first appeared in a solo exhibition at the Museum of Romantic Life in Paris. Curator Gaëlle Rio, chose it for one of the exhibition’s sections, accurately describing the indefinite space between and around the figures in her paintings.
This space is often depicted with broad strokes, devoid of illusion or perspective. In a less-is-more state, the artist constructs a purely pictorial dimension. This “in-between” space is constituted via paint, paper, and silence, the void between two characters is expressed, a state of uncertainty. However, these seemingly non-narrative blanks leave the viewer with infinite imagination, prompting viewers to seek answers between characters and within the artwork itself.
