Encounter:Chris Lo Sze Lim Solo Exhibition
As in everyday life, Chris Lo‘s creation begins with picking up the detritus of living and reassembling them into different shapes and forms, responding to the serendipitous encounters along the way.

Perchance there is poetry in some that are transient.
Within their nooks and crannies are indefinite notes keeping company with a soul in transition, turning over clay, following movements that are scattered and unpredictable, urgently describing those fleeting moments, enabling a series of fortuitous experiences to eventually bring about the face-to-face encounter of another self, both full of joy and sorrow.

Life is a solitary river. As it flows, Chris gains insight into the different encounters and partings, eventually acquiring awareness through impermanence.

    Chris Lo Sze Lim
Chris was born in Hong Kong in 1967 and he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1990. He now resides in Kaohsiung Taiwan. His works include sculptural ceramics, installation works, and functional objects that serve both form and function.

In 1995, he founded his own art studio the Cobo Ceramic Workshop. This allowed Chris to actively participate in numerous art exhibitions in Hong Kong, as well as in Taiwan, Japan, USA, Korea, Europe, and China. His works are carried in the collections of the Hong Kong Museum of Art, Hong Kong Heritage Museum, the National Museum of Chinese History in Beijing, and the Kohler Art Centre, Wisconsin, USA, as well as individuals and private collectors.

The themes mostly revolve around people, objects, time and space. Through natural forms and textures, they express a unique style of raw energy and reinvention, reflecting his interpretation of life charged with a strong internal spirituality.
