Project Space 110

Project Space 110 is a new, artist-run gallery in the Xindian District of New Taipei City, located on the ground floor of an artist studio building. Our physical and digital spaces aim to support experimental work by local artists and foster connections between the diverse art communities we engage with in Taiwan and abroad.
Tim Budden, MA, is a UK artist whose current art is an attempt to integrate his Western upbringing with the Taiwanese Chinese culture in which he now lives. Inspired originally by traditional paper cutting, his material of choice has long been paper. This has led to his current work in which paper is painted, cut and burned exploring themes such as memory, identity and nature. Tim’s work has been exhibited at Suho Paper Memorial Museum, Very Fun Park, National Museum of Contemporary Craft, and Taipei MOCA among others. He has worked on projects with clients such as Fubon Bank, Taiwan Mobile, Twining’s Tea, Shiseido, and Milk X magazine / Chanel.
Jocelyn Shu is an artist inspired by the process of translating across cultures and fields of knowledge. She draws influence from her background as a psychology researcher in cognitive and affective science. She holds a BFA in Painting/Drawing jointly from the University of San Francisco and the California College of the Arts, a PhD in Psychology from Columbia University, and completed postdoctoral research at Harvard. Jocelyn has had solo shows in New York City, Boston, and Taipei, and has been featured in publications including Hyperallergic, Sculpture Magazine, and Boston Art Review. Born in the Bay Area, California, she currently lives and works in Taipei, Taiwan.
As co-founders of the gallery and studio residents, both artists embody in their creative practices the act of crossing between cultures. This continuous movement leads to a shared visual aesthetic that explores forms and concepts pertaining to nature and the universal. -
