In an era where digital technology permeates every facet of life, artist Bae Soo Young is redefining the boundaries between art and electronics. Her upcoming solo exhibition, The Aesthetics of Connection, invites audiences to explore how discarded electronic components—such as old Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) —can be transformed into evocative works of art. Through her innovative approach, Bae challenges conventional perceptions of technological waste, revealing its aesthetic potential and emotional depth.
This exhibition highlights profound themes including Aesthetics of Connection, Electronic Landscape, Data, Breath of Electronics, Digital Metamorphosis, Connected Emotions, and Heart and Life. Her ability to breathe life into discarded electronic components challenges our perception of what is considered obsolete, urging us to see beauty in the artificial and emotion in the mechanical. As we stand on the precipice of an era where digital and biological existences intertwine, her work serves as both a celebration of progress and a contemplation of its implications. Through her art, Bae not only envisions the future but also inspires us to navigate it with mindfulness, creativity, and above all, heart.
