    My Paradise:Hiroki Miura Solo Exhibition

Japanese artist Hiroki Miura, whose artwork spans ceramics, painting, and crafts, presents his first solo exhibition in Taipei, My Paradise. The exhibition showcases a series of vibrant, magical, and surreal works, transforming fantastical creatures drawn with childlike simplicity into vivid, three-dimensional sculptures, offering a poetic reimagining of the world.
Miura’s work reflects his keen sensitivity to the details of everyday life, capturing not just a representation of reality, but the free-flowing connection between the inner world and the external. Drawing inspiration from his studio, nestled in the mountains, Miura reweaves familiar natural elements into a whimsical, creative paradise. This exhibition offers an immersive journey for viewers, encouraging them to explore the subtle and mysterious connections between life and nature.

    Hiroki Miura

Born in Hiroshima in 1991, Miura graduated from Arita Ceramic College before refining his craft at the Hasami Pottery. In 2020, he became an independent artist and currently resides in Saga, Kyushu, Japan. His work often draws from observations of daily life, transforming them into both two- and three-dimensional creations. His art conveys joy and surprise, characterized by vivid colors and playful forms. Miura has participated in numerous group exhibitions and art events, gaining increasing attention and acclaim in the Japanese art scene.
Initially inspired by ancient Japanese clay figurines, Miura frequently employs outdoor smoking techniques using natural materials such as rice husks, straw, and wood, preserving the raw, earthy qualities of the clay in a highly experimental manner. His early works materialized fantastical creatures and human figures from the depths of his imagination. In recent years, his focus has shifted toward more familiar natural subjects, blending traditional and contemporary elements in his work, showcasing both a deep understanding of ceramics and a spirit of innovation.
