美味可口的鮮紅草莓蛋糕，還沒有吃到它的甜味，透過視覺就彷彿能感覺到這甜蜜的味道，「味覺性感官」轉換為「視覺性感官」，眼睛凝視著鮮紅的草莓，會由心而生一種愉悅感，這愉悅感從視覺感官轉化為人的身體感知。這種視覺感官是由眼睛閱讀圖像──視覺藝術的接收器，不需要透過大腦的理解或個人同的社會認知，就可以感受繪畫的魅力。而這種無法言語的魅力，我將「它」詮釋為指涉現代人對於品嘗美味、追求美好生活、甜美的渴望，所衍生出來的心象世界。

「草莓」的發想，源自於近幾年來在報章雜誌上批評年輕世代的用詞，通常泛指1981年後出生的世代，如同爛草莓般一捏就破的特性。這說法很有趣、有創意！但我更欣賞草莓可愛的造型、鮮紅的色彩，’以及迷惑人的香味與酸甜。
兩顆草莓放在一起，容易讓人聯想到果醬與情感的黏膩感；味覺上的酸酸甜甜的滋味也呼應著情感的細膩與刺激之處；誇張其色彩的鮮紅色草莓，更顯得壯碩與堅強，一反所謂「爛草莓」的荒謬說法。
