Maja Houtman is a Dutch jewelry maker. Her work balances on the interface of decorative art, design and crafts. Maja's form language is expressed in her work. Characteristic is the use of meters of silver wire, and recently the introcduction of thousands pieces of chain. The results are poetic and enchanting.
During the last twenty years I developed my own style of wirework. It evolved from modest baskets and small jewelry into objects, dishes and exclusive jewelry-pieces. Maja Houtman love experimenting, the work grows in my hands. Because of the intensity of the work, Maja have a steady, but limited production.
