在悉達多出生和覺悟之前，佛陀以多種形式存在並擁有許多前世。他曾經有一次以鳥的身份出生在瓦拉納西的叢林中。鳥與他的朋友猴子，兔子和大象和諧共處。年輕者們合力將長者背在背上，因為彼此之間真誠地合作，所以它們最終吃到了在高處的榕樹果實。

鳥教給人們以道德的舉止（戒律）：不奪人命，不戴帽子，不撒謊，不犯色戒，不喝酒。然後，每隻動物與叢林中的所有其他動物一起遵循這些行為，因此帶領了全世界的和平與幸福。

在叢林附近的一個王國中，國王、大臣和人民，對誰造成王國的財富和幸運該受到稱讚而爭論不休。一位隱士解釋說，王國的命運歸功於四個和睦的朋友所遵循和教導的道德行為，以及他們的前進道路。隱士建議王國走這條路，從此人民遵循了道德行為，死後重生了涅槃世界。彼此之間，相互聯繫、相互依存與互相幫助，在通往涅槃的道路上，正如上面軼事的啟示，同樣也啟發了這件作品。這件作品由8個幸運符，和圍繞著流動的5種感官佛陀的好友們所組成，藝術家來自喜馬拉雅山腳下，一個佛法興旺的國家不丹，並透過這件作品向藝術的開明致敬。

Before the birth of Siddhartha and the enlightenment, the Buddha existed in many forms and had many past lives. One former time he was born in the jungle of Varanasi as a pheasant (bird). The Pheasant existed alongside his friends the Monkey, the Rabbit and the Elephant-harmoniously. The respect and devotion for each other was so true that one time the young carried the elder in their back, which led them to eat the fruit of the Banyan Tree.

The pheasant- the eldest, taught the moral conducts (precepts) of not taking lives, not taking hat was not given, not speaking lies, not committing sexual misconduct and not taking intoxicants. Then each animal followed these conducts along with all other animals in the jungle which led to peace and happiness all around the world.

In a kingdom nearby the jungle, the king, the ministers and the people were at loggerheads as to who was to be praised for the wealth and fortunes of their kingdom. A Hermit explained that the fortune of the kingdom was thanks to the moral conducts kept and taught by the four harmonious friends, and the path they were leading. The hermit ad vised the kingdom to follow that path and thus, the people followed the moral conducts and on their death were reborn in the realm of nirvana. The interconnection and the interdependence of beings to one another to help each other on the path to attaining nirvana, as entails the anecdote above has inspired this artwork . The artwork consists of 8 lucky signs and the 5 senses flowing around the Buddha and the harmonious friends as a tribute to the enlightened one by the artist who comes from a Mahayana Buddhist Himalayan Kingdom of Bhutan, with a flourishing practice of Buddha's Dharma.
