國立臺灣博物館National Taiwan Museum
成立於1908年,為臺灣歷史最悠久的博物館,百年來致力於人類學、地質學、動物學、植物學典藏與推廣,展示臺灣自然史、產業史、現代性等內涵,並持續營造友善環境、多語導覽服務,透過文化創意、合作行銷,期待更多人參與博物館的精采。
National Taiwan Museum, established in 1908, the oldest museum in Taiwan. It has been dedicated to research, collection, exhibition and education concerning anthropology, geology, zoology, botany, and museum studies of Taiwan. Its exhibitions cover natural history, industry history, and modernity of Taiwan. The museum continues to create a friendly environment and multilingual guide services, and through multicultural creativity and cooperative marketing, we look forward to letting more people participate in the excitement of the museum.
本館 Main Building
這座融合多種西洋古典建築元素的館舍見證臺灣的歷史歲月,記錄土地自然人文的點滴,有如「博物臺灣」常設展透過百年收藏介紹臺灣的文化與自然環境,另打造多元體驗活動,有如「輿圖紀遊—3D動畫影片」,運用動畫搭配光影與聲音輔助參觀。
Incorporating various classical elements of western architecture, the building has born witness to the early years of Taiwan and recorded the natural and cultural happenings on this land. For example, ‘Exploring Taiwan’ permanent exhibition gives an overview of Taiwan’s culture and natural environment through its collections from the last 100 years. The museum tailors its activities to the needs of different demographics. For example, using animation supplemented by lighting and sound design, enlivens a map of Taiwan in the reign of Emperor Kangxi.
古生物館 Natural History Branch
前身為日本勸業銀行臺北支店,二戰後為公營的臺灣土地銀行。歷經百年歲月,是臺灣的金融史、經濟史、建築史、工藝史及博物館發展的具體實證,展出古生物、土銀行史及古蹟修復等內容,並定期舉辦觀察探索、遊戲互動等,引發各年齡層學習興趣。
The Natural History Branch was originally the Taipei branch of Nippon Kangyo Bank. After WWII, it was reorganized into the Land Bank under the ROC government. This majestic bank building of nearly a century, now as living proof of multiple histories in Taiwan – financial, economic, architectural, artistic, and aptly, museological. It seeks to pique interest by observation and exploration activities, and interactive games.
南門館 Nanmen Branch
園區前身為「臺灣總督府專賣局臺北南門工廠」,是日本時代臺灣唯一的公營樟腦加工廠。經修復再利用,定位為產業史博物館,呈現樟腦產業對於社會經濟族群文化及生態環境上的影響,並持續舉辦「腦丁代言人」等推廣活動。
During the Japanese period, this site was the Taipei Nanmen Factory under the Monopoly Bureau of the Taiwan Governor-General’s Office, the only public camphor processing factory in Taiwan. The Taipei Nanmen Factory has been restored, and re-established as the Nanmen Branch, exhibiting the industrial history of Taiwan. In situ displays of artefacts and relics, the exhibition illuminates the camphor industry’s social, economic, ethnic, cultural and environmental impact. And continue to hold activities such as "The Spokesperson for Camphor worker ".
鐵道部園區 Railway Department Park
曾是日治時期臺灣總督府交通局鐵道部、民國時期臺灣鐵路管理局的本部,為全臺鐵路的行政管理中樞,內有6座國定古蹟建物、2座市定古蹟。展示百餘年的鐵道歷史、現代交通與發展現代化,其中規劃火車動態展演,呈現鐵路過往的風華記憶。
Railway Department Park was once the Railway Department of Taiwan Governor-General’s Office in the Japanese period and the headquarters of the Taiwan Railways Administration in the R.O.C. period, which was the administrative center of all Taiwan railways. There are six buildings designated as National Monuments and two places designated as Municipal Monuments. The exhibits showcase more than a hundred years of railway history and the modernity of development. And planning train dynamic exhibitions of different model train, presenting the past glamorous memories along the Taipei Railway.
