【看不透的夢遊世界王寶慶個展】The Obscure Sleepwalking World: WANG Pao-Ching Solo Exhibition

人生在世,宛如夢境,籠罩於一片混沌之中,世上的紛爭、衝突起源於人們相互的不理解,思想間的對立演變成激烈的行徑。人們習慣以不同詞彙定義自己,「基督徒」、「環保主義」、「激進派」、「異性戀」……,透過這些定義為自己尋求安全感,促使不同聲音出現於社會中,但同時也抑制了各個群體間的交流。
宗教、黨派間的爭執,性別、族群的不合,對議題的意見相左,生活在充斥著各種聲音的環境中,日夜不分的資訊轟炸,使我們逐漸無法分辨以何為重。我們如同在夢遊狀態,於夢中行走,現實亦起身行動,卻無法感知在夢中所思所想,是否與現實作為相符,無法認清時空方位,看不透孰重孰輕、孰是孰非。
近年來模型、公仔的熱潮從拍賣市場、藝博會擴散到整個藝術產業,袖珍藝術起源於十六世紀的娃娃屋,從原先只流轉於上流社會的奢侈品,轉而成為平易近人的扭蛋、公仔。山田卓司成為人生的導演,以紀錄片的形式還原記憶中的劇情人物、場景,展現事件當下的情緒;鄭鴻展忠實呈現空間的每一處細節,還原時間在它們身上留下的足跡。
王寶慶自高中起創作袖珍模型,歷經20餘年的進程,他賦予袖珍藝術更寬廣的創作形式,從單純的將場景縮小、再現,更進一步將對人生的體悟、對社會現象的感觸加之於其中。轉變模型原始的型態,加以拼裝、打磨,擷取部分的零件,創造出如寺廟、神殿中的浮雕作品,使袖珍藝術在當代產生更多元的想像空間。

The world is just like a dream filled with chaos. Disputes and conflicts come from people’s incomprehension between each other, and the opposite of thinking turns to fierce action. People tend to use some words to define themselves, for instance Christian, Environmentalist, Radical, Heterosexual, and so on. Through these definitions, we seek security and let various voices appear in the society, however, it restrains the communication among groups at the same time.
The disputes between religions and political parties, the conflicts between genders and communities, the disagreement of opinions… Living in the surroundings that are full of different voices with information explosion day and night makes us cannot distinguish what is important gradually. We seem like being sleepwalking. We walk in the dream and also take action in real, but we cannot perceive whether the action we take complies with what we think in the dream. We cannot recognize the time and space, neither can we discern between right and wrong, slight or important.
In recent years, the hit of figure spread from auction market and art fair to the whole art industry. Miniature art originated from the doll house in 16 century. It used to be a luxury among the upper society and turned into an accessible capsule toy or action figure. Takuji Yamada became the director of life. He restored the characters and the scenes in the memories by the form of documentary, showing the mood of the events; Hank Cheng faithfully presented every detail of the space, restoring the tracks left by time.
WANG Pao Ching started doing miniature from his high school. 20 more years has passed, he gave miniature a boarder creation form. It starts with simply minifying and recreating the scene; and further, adding in the understanding of life, feelings about social phenomena. WANG Pao Ching changes the original structure of model, picking, polishing and assembling some components to create the relief carving which looks like the embossment in the temple. He gives more diverse imagination to the miniature in modern art. -
