1976出生於嘉義的莊宗勳，現於嘉義定居與創作。自臺灣藝術大學美術系、臺南藝術大學造型藝術研究所，後於國⽴臺南藝術⼤學研讀藝術創作理論博⼠畢業，歷經二十餘年離鄉求學、創作與教書的日子。
莊宗勳多年來面對創作勇於嘗試新的可能，舉凡新媒體、影像、繪畫、觀念藝術、都有所涉獵，近期的創作以繪畫為主，但處理的繪畫狀態仍舊結合異質材料的運用。

他的作品以「模組化」的遊具貫穿主軸。一世紀之前這些「模組化」的遊具不曾出現在生活周遭，在過往資訊不發達的時代，能夠保留個別文化的獨特性。
漸漸的這些人工化設施取代自然景觀的「新風景」，在新的人工風景裡，我們看到一種截然不同的生活樣貌，並且在世界各地以同與反覆的方式出現在公共空間。這些遊具像是人類進入擬像世界前的過度模型，連接實體化都不存在的媒體世界。

此次展出2021-2024年的創作，其中系列作品已進行十幾年，莊宗勳想要讓自己的作品處在「看得懂」且可以一目瞭然引發共情，所以作品刻意以單純、簡化的圖像，創造出如同簡易說明書般的當代生活指南或圖式，用以反映當代生活的處境，一眼就能看透的當代生活情境。

THE WORLD IS UNIFIED, BUT A LITTLE DIFFERENT
CHUANG, Tsung-Hsun 2024 Solo Exhibition

CHUANG, Tsung-Hsun was born in Chiayi in 1976, now lives and works in Chiayi.

Since 2016 Ph.D. in Art Creation and Theory, National Tainan University of Arts, Graduate Institute of Plastic Arts of Tainan National University of the Arts Taiwan, Ph.D. in Art Creation and Theory, National Tainan University of Arts, Taiwan, after more than twenty years of studying, creating art, and teaching away.
Over the years, CHUANG, Tsung-Hsun bold in exploring new possibilities in my creative pursuits, including ventures into new media, video art, painting, and conceptual art. While recent works have primarily focused on painting, they still incorporate the use of diverse materials.

His works use "modular" play gear throughout the main axis.A century ago, these "modular" playgrounds were not present in everyday life. In the past, when information was less developed, the unique characteristics of individual cultures could be preserved. Gradually, these man-made structures replaced natural landscapes, becoming the "new landscapes." In these new artificial landscapes, we see a completely different way of life, which appears repeatedly in public spaces around the world in a uniform and repetitive manner. These playgrounds seem to be transitional models before humans enter a simulated world, connecting to a media world that doesn＆#039;t even exist in physical form.

The exhibition features works created between 2021 and 2024, with some series having been in development for over a decade. CHUANG, Tsung-Hsun aims for his work to be "understandable" and to immediately evoke empathy. Therefore, his works are deliberately presented in simple, streamlined images, creating contemporary life guides or diagrams akin to easy-to-understand instruction manuals, reflecting the circumstances of modern life—scenarios that can be instantly grasped at a glance.
