本次展覽以旅途為題，帶有公路旅行的想像——途中所見的荒草、粉塵、碎石與飛砂，這些顆粒感與雜訊形成對比，顛覆創作中對極致控制的追求，讓繪畫的層次在「局部」之間展現，拼貼出感性的視覺語彙。

Trip B 既象徵旅程，也如代號般開啟各種聯想——B-road、B-roll、B-side……彷彿是作品的次級敘事，補充與分支。相較於前作《A面，年糕：空船》以浮於表層意象，這次展覽更關注水面下的龐大沉積，那些看似無用、缺乏養分的片段，在日復一日的平凡與靈感貧瘠中累積，邊角料成為主體，荒蕪之地或許正是養分所在。

「足跡」貫穿創作脈絡，繪畫如層層疊加的痕跡，展現內在邏輯與軌跡。同時，它亦指向網絡時代的虛擬移動與情感流動，構築出迷幻卻真實的異空間。

▌展出者簡介

李秉璈畢業於國立臺北藝術大學美術學系，目前就讀國立臺北藝術大學美術創作碩士班，正投入畢業前的展覽發表與論文寫作中。

近年活躍於各美術獎項，包括2024集保藝術賞—視域臺灣」銅賞，2023李仲生基金會視覺藝術獎，第一屆、第二屆中國信託當代繪畫獎入選，2021高雄科技大學青年藝術家典藏獎，2021宜蘭獎優選，2020北藝大美術創作卓越獎、2019美術系系展首獎等。

在面對大量影像、科技技術的影響下，對當代繪畫的議題討論中，強調筆觸、手工感、圖層空間等繪畫表現，李秉璈的作品成為討論的重點之一。

▌Exhibition Introduction

This exhibition centres around the theme of travel, with evocations of the road trip—dusty weeds, gravel, and flying sand. These particles contrast with the noise of interference, subverting the extreme control usually pursued by creators, drawing the eye to the “parts” that make up the whole, constructing a sentimental visual lexicon patchwork.

Trip B evokes visions of not just travel, but also a semiotic chain of associations—B-road, B-roll, B-side, as if they were secondary narratives, supplements, or branches of the work. In contrast to the previous work A-side, Rice Cake: Empty ship, whose imagery floats on the apparent surface, this exhibition is more concerned with the massive sediment beneath the water. These seemingly useless, nutrient-deficient scraps accumulate throughout the daily drudgery of the mundane and stagnated creativity. When the scraps and offcuts become the main event, perhaps the barren lands are where the nutrients ultimately lie.

“Footprints” is the throughline that underpins these creations. The stacked and layered imprints that comprise the painting underpin its logic and trajectory. At the same time, it points to the virtual and emotional movement in the internet age, creating a psychedelic yet grounded alternate reality.

▌Exhibitor Profile

Li Bing-Ao graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts’ School of Fine Arts and is pursuing a Master’s degree at the same department. Currently he is preparing for his final exhibition and thesis.

Li Bing Ao has been the recipient of many artistic awards, including the Bronze Award at the 2024 TDCC Art Award—Vision Taiwan, making the shortlist for the 1st and 2nd CTBC Painting Prizes, earning the Collector’s Award for the 2021 NKUST Young Artist Award, making the shortlist for 2021 Yilan Art Awards, winning the Excellence award at the 2020 TNUA Fine Art Awards, and winning first place on the 2019 TNUA Fine Arts Departmental Awards.

In the age of mass imagery and technological influence, where the discussion of modern fine art often emphasizes brushstrokes, artisan production, space layering and other painting techniques, Li Bing Ao’s work makes an important contribution to this discussion.
