從兒時的棉被、玩偶、寵物,到《浩劫重生》的威爾森排球,一件「臭布布」,可以是如聖物般時刻守護的存在。它既承載個人情感與歸屬,也被託付著他人無法理解的執著,抑或現代人的深度孤寂,因此在一些人的信念裡,更不允許任何洗滌的嘗試。藝術家李霽洵最新個展《柔軟的地方,總有孤獨與家》,便是源自她對這類親密物件的珍視與思考。
「臭布布」的存在,不僅是歲月積累下的寄情之物,更是情緒慰藉、安放靈魂之處。對它的所有搓揉和相擁,都讓柔軟皺摺與殘留氣息裡,彷彿封存了時間的痕跡和肌膚的記憶。李霽洵細膩雕琢如嫩滑肌膚般的肌理與質感,展現其對材質與情感的深刻理解,並融合充滿暗喻的昆蟲和動物,打造奇特反差感,賦予作品強烈視覺衝擊與情感張力,引領觀者深入感受多層面的執著與心靈寄託。
The Security Blanket:Chi-Hsun Lee Solo Exhibition
From childhood blankets, toys, and pets to the Wilson volleyball in Cast Away, a “security blanket” can become a sacred guardian. It carries personal emotions and a sense of belonging, entrusted with obsessions that others may never understand, or perhaps the profound loneliness of modern life. For some, any attempt to cleanse it is simply not allowed. Artist Chi-Hsun Lee’s latest solo exhibition, The Security Blanket, stems from her reverence and contemplation of such intimate objects.
The “security blanket” is not merely a relic of accumulated time, but a sanctuary for emotional comfort, a resting place for the soul. Every touch and embrace of it seems to preserve the traces of time and the memory of skin within its soft folds and lingering scent. Lee’s delicate craftsmanship, like the smoothness of skin, reveals her deep understanding of material and emotion. By intertwining metaphorical insects and animals, she creates a striking contrast that imbues her work with powerful visual impact and emotional tension, leading the viewer to deeply feel the layers of obsession and spiritual refuge.
李霽洵
生於1992年,畢業於國立台灣藝術大學木雕組。擅長以香杉、樟木、桂楠木等材質,結合金屬與繪畫細節,演繹相異於木材本質的柔美。作品多從自身生命經驗出發,反映對不同議題、社會脈絡和文化符號的觀察。
透過充滿對比的作品,著重呈現身為女性所經歷到關於對應關係、刻板印象,以及當人類以自身標準定義「他者」時,從而影響彼此權力關係的故事。藉其獨特敘事風格的創作,揭露私密情感,以及對世界的感受與見解。
Chi Hsun Lee
Born in 1992, Chi-Hsun Lee graduated from the Wood Sculpture Department at the National Taiwan University of Arts. Specializing in materials like incense cedar, camphor, and cinnamon wood, she blends metal and painted details to express a softness that contrasts with the inherent nature of the wood. Her works often stem from personal life experiences, reflecting her observations of various issues, social contexts, and cultural symbols.
Through works rich in contrast, she explores the female experience, addressing relationships, stereotypes, and the power dynamics that arise when humans define "the other" by their own standards. Her unique narrative style unveils intimate emotions and her perceptions of the world.
