展覽概念簡介

生活在現代都市裡的我們，雖不是生活在沙漠中需要追尋單一水源而居，然而水泥叢林幾乎就像是現代人造沙漠。因而，走踏著柏油路、穿梭在高高低低的樓房之間，當來到一個可以踩到真正泥土、綠地甚至看見有著生物在裡頭悠遊的活水時，就像是在沙漠中來到綠洲那樣重新地感覺到生命又回到了身上那樣的舒暢。

以台中為家的陸府建設，一直以來以百分之百綠覆蓋比率的原則在做建設，強調生機與永續，創造都市當中的綠地。回應陸府建設獨特的建設關懷，本次展覽企圖以「綠洲」作為想像，以藝術的方法，探索與揭露人與植物、生態之間尚有距離的關係。將現代都市與人和自然生態之間的關係做為觀察的對象，試著對觀眾拋出思考命題，我們要如何從作為「生物」的其中一員作為切入點，將都市環境經營規劃得更加合宜，除了發展都市生態的生物多樣性，是否還能進一步體認並發展城市與大環境生態的平衡關係。

About the exhibition

Living in a modern city, we do not need to chase water like living in a desert. However, the concrete forest is like an artificial modern desert today. Hence, when we eventually find a place where has soil, green and flowing water with fish after walking on asphalt road wandering between houses and high-rises, it feels exactly like finding an oasis in a desert, being alive again.

Live Forever Construction Company is based in Taichung with the principle of building projects with green covered. The aim of the company is to give vitality, sustainability and creating green in a city. Inspired by its core value, the exhibition Oasis reveals the distant relationship between human, plants and ecology via imagining ‘oasis’ in a city. We observe the interaction between human, nature and urban environment in order to raise a question to our viewers: how do we make our everyday environment a better place for living if we see ourselves as a part of the ‘living beings’ on this planet? Can we develop biodiversity of urban ecosystem and find a balance between urban area and its surroundings?
