柯驎晏（b.1993），臺灣師範大學美術系美術創作理論組博士畢業（2024)，是目前臺灣當代水墨備受矚目的青年藝術家。他以其獨特的藝術風格和對傳統水墨畫技術的創新而著稱。柯驎晏在其作品中融合了傳統與現代元素，透過細膩的筆觸和獨特的構圖，展現出深厚的文化底蘊和當代藝術的視角。

柯驎晏的技法深植於傳統水墨的功底，又以臺灣北海岸老梅綠石槽的質感作為靈感，發展出創新的技法「海苔皴」，以嚴謹的膠墨暈染與大膽豐富的設色，反映出當代水墨風格與傳統山水畫連結的可能性，既融合了傳統與當代的概念，更賦予自然風景多重的意義，展示地景的文化再現，建立起深具「東方意識」的山水風格，強調藝術家與風景的真實連結，展現「地方」與「空間」的意義轉換，反映出個人對地方的記憶和期待。

柯驎晏的創作主題基於對臺灣風土景緻的觀察及情感，以個人行旅經驗為基礎，探討自然風景與文化轉換，意圖在表現年輕世代對於臺灣風土普遍的環境經驗，並非僅聚焦於個人的地方經驗，他希望觀者能透過畫面的引導和呈現，從而引發共情。柯驎晏在創作中描繪了許多在台灣特定地理環境下形成的戶外活動：如潛水、攀岩、健行、淨灘及水上活動等；他的作品同時也展示了臺灣的地理多樣性、能源議題和當代的都市發展，藉由這些自然及人為的活動，柯驎晏希望觀者能重新回到、並關注身邊的人、事、物等議題。2024年他將發生在這片土地上的重要地理景色與議題，集結成其迄今為止的最大尺幅作品《臺灣八景2024》，透過這件作品，他試圖喚起人們對環境和社會問題的關注與思考。

柯驎晏的作品多次在臺灣舉辦多次個展，並在大型藝術博覽會中展出，獲得了學術界與收藏家廣泛的認可和讚譽；柯驎晏致力於探索水墨藝術的可能性，賦予自然風景多重意義，展示地景的文化再現，並且不斷挑戰和突破傳統界限，創造出充滿活力和創新精神的藝術作品，柯驎晏在當代實景山水畫創作中的創新與實踐，展示了他如何結合傳統技法與現代元素，並反映出臺灣當代水墨畫的發展與可能性。

Ke Lin Yen (b.1993) is a highly regarded young contemporary ink artist in Taiwan whose art truly stems from the lands of Taiwan and shows the beauty of Taiwan’s landscape. He graduated with a Ph.D. in Art Creation Theory from the Department of Fine Arts at National Taiwan Normal University (2024). He is known for his unique artistic style and innovations in traditional ink painting techniques. In his work, Ke Lin Yen combines traditional and modern elements, using delicate brushwork and unique compositions to showcase deep Taiwanese cultural heritage and contemporary artistic perspectives.

Ke Lin Yen's technique is rooted in traditional ink painting, inspired by the texture of the green algae-covered rocks on Taiwan's northern coast at Laomei. He developed an innovative technique called "Seaweed Texture," characterized by meticulous ink washes and bold, rich coloring. This technique reflects the possibility of linking contemporary ink painting with traditional landscape painting. By merging traditional and contemporary concepts, he adds multiple layers of meaning to natural landscapes, displaying the cultural representation of landscapes and establishing an ink painting style with a strong "Eastern consciousness." He emphasizes the artist's genuine connection with the landscape, highlighting the transformation of "place" and "space," reflecting personal memories and expectations of a place.

Ke Lin Yen's creative themes are based on his observations and emotions towards Taiwan's landscapes, drawing from his personal travel experiences. He explores the transformation of natural landscapes and culture, aiming to represent the general environmental experiences of the younger generation in Taiwan, not just personal local experiences. He hopes that viewers can be guided and engaged by his paintings. In his work, Ke Lin Yen depicts various outdoor activities formed in specific geographic environments in Taiwan, such as diving, rock climbing, hiking, beach cleaning, and water activities. His works also showcase Taiwan's geographical diversity, energy issues, and contemporary urban development. Through these natural and human activities, Ke Lin Yen hopes viewers can refocus on the people, events, and things around them. In 2024, he compiled the significant spots of geographic landscapes and issues of this land into his largest work to date, "Eight Scenes of Taiwan 2024." Through this piece, he seeks to raise awareness and provoke thought on environmental and social issues.

Ke Lin Yen has held numerous solo exhibitions in Taiwan and has exhibited at major art fairs, earning widespread recognition and praise from academics and collectors. He is dedicated to exploring the possibilities of ink art, imbuing natural landscapes with layered meanings, displaying the cultural representation of landscapes, and continuously challenging and breaking traditional boundaries. His vibrant and innovative works demonstrate how he combines traditional techniques with modern elements, reflecting the development and potential of contemporary Taiwanese ink painting.
