從「泰潮」（Thai Wave）到臺灣網路迷因影像發展潛力
When Thai Wave phenomenon meets up with Taiwanese meme culture.

展覽介紹 Introduction
在眾多世界飲食文化中提到臺灣，大家都會有默契地喊出珍珠奶茶！近年來珍珠奶茶在全世界大放異彩，儼然成為臺灣的代名詞。相對地，當臺灣人去泰國時也必定會品嘗泰奶凍飲，泰式奶茶特殊的泰國茶葉香氣，再淋上煉乳添加香醇的味蕾層次，成就了我們對於泰國的重大印象。本次展覽試圖結合臺泰間的國民飲品雙邊之風味特性，調配出臺灣人習慣的黃金比例、絕佳口感，泰式撞奶微微Tai-Thai Boba Milktea Wave Wave這跨國界之新飲品因此誕生。

本次展覽以轉造(transcreation) 與多語跨界的方式提供大眾一種自我犒賞、集體安慰與小確幸的觀展體驗，由台籍與泰籍策展組合與藝術家規劃與展出共10件作品，作品以特殊的藝術模擬手法，玩轉固有的影像、音樂、工藝等藝術認知，提供出另一套具詼諧、搞笑、微微惡搞意味但又如此認真且Q的另類創作狀態。這些看似微(糖)微(冰)的作品，潛藏著不同的細節與呼應，進而映出臺灣和泰國彼此歷史脈絡中難以捉摸的當前社會情境與現象，期望能為臺灣與泰國的當代藝術與社會狀態提供更加細緻與多元的立體樣貌。

Boba Milktea has made a big splash on the global stage, and is now synonymous with Taiwan. When talking about the cultural food of Taiwan, “Boba Milktea” would be the name that cried out among the crowd. In Thailand, similarly, Thai Iced Milktea would be a tourist must for Taiwanese. The special aroma of Thai tea leaves, topped with condensed milk to add fragrant flavor, has created a significant impression of Thailand. This exhibition attempts to combine the characteristic flavors of these two drinks from Taiwan and Thailand. Through multiple attempts, Tai-Thai Boba Milktea Wave Wave (Tai-Thai Boba Milktea Micro sugar Micro ice), the golden proportion with the best taste, a new cross-border drink, is born.

This exhibition provides the public with a sense of self-rewarding, collective consolation, and little fortune viewing experience through transcreation and cross-multilingualism. The Tai-Thai exhibition team and these 10 artworks take a unique artistic simulation technique to play with the conventional art forms such as video, music, craft and life aesthetics, giving out an alternative set of humours, ironic, funny, ludicrous, but earnest and cute alternative-creative status. These seemingly wave-wave (micro sugar, micro ice) artworks hide different details and echoes, reflecting the current elusive social situations and phenomena in the historical context of Taiwan and Thailand, in the hope of drawing a meticulous and diversified yet vivid picture of the contemporary art and social conditions in Taiwan and Thailand.

關於策展人 About Curators
陳念庭 CHEN Nien-Ting
生於 1990 年臺北，是位獨立策展人與視覺藝術家，畢業於英國格拉斯哥藝術 學院，獲得藝術創作碩士(MFA)，目前於英國利物浦藝術與設計學院(LSA, LJMU)攻讀藝術博士。主要的藝術實踐與發表於亞洲及英國各城市，發展項目聚焦於世界藝術青年的藝術資源連結與共享、青年藝文工作者在國際發展的策略與實踐。同時，也持續發展各項具連結性之藝術計畫與策展。交流觸角擴及英國、韓國、新加坡、馬來西亞、泰國等地，2021年受邀烏克蘭錄像雙年展NonStopMedia Festival擔任策展人一職。期許能藉由當代藝術，進而推廣臺灣藝術與文化並增加臺灣在國際藝文上的曝光度。
CHEN Nien-Ting (b. 1990) is an independent curator and visual artist. She holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Glasgow School of Art, United Kingdom, and is currently pursuing her PhD in Art at the Liverpool School of Art and Design (LSA, LJMU). She works across cities in both Asia and the United Kingdom, with her research, practice and projects focusing on developing strategies to bring young artists onto the world stage through the exchange, sharing and combination of resources. At the same time, she continues to actualize various interconnected art projects and curatorial works in places such as the United Kingdom, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, etc..

Supapong Laodheerasiri

生於1985年泰國清萊。於2009年從泰國清邁大學美術學院獲得繪畫藝術學士學位(BFA)，並於2018年畢業於英國格拉斯哥格拉斯哥藝術學院(GSA)美術碩士。經常在泰國與國際間舉辦與參與各種藝術展覽。在他的當代藝術實踐中，深度探討各種媒體和技術並應用圖像表達其觀念，同時強調概念的傳達和表現途徑，探索不同對象對語言中感知和詮釋的認知關係。目前擔任泰國曼谷泰國先皇技術學院(KMITL)建築學院美術系專任講師。近期受邀赴各地擔任演講嘉賓: 泰國清邁大學美術學院，臺灣VT非常廟藝文空間、國立臺南藝術大學，曼谷藝術文化中心等。2019年，策劃「隱喻風景」(Metaphorical Landscapes)於泰國清邁Baan Tuek藝術中心舉辦群展。
Supapong Laodheerasiri was born in Chiang Rai, Thailand in 1985. He currently lives and works in Chiang Rai and Bangkok, Thailand. He applies images in a conceptual manner, using a variety of media and techniques, while emphasizing the presentation and expression of his concepts. Several of his artworks explore the questions about perceptions and interpretations of objects and language; for example, when positions, functions or contexts of objects and language are shifted or moved; their definitions become different or ambiguous. The shifts of them cause the alternative choices of evaluation or understanding, with new issues arising.

Chulayarnnon Siriphol
Chulayarnnon Siriphol 於1986年出生，同時是一位電影製作人和藝術家。他的作品風格介於紀錄與虛構、現實與超現實之間。他透過諷刺、幻覺的呈現與他自身的幽默來質疑對美德與理想世界的信仰。現居於曼谷生活和工作。
Chulayarnnon Siriphol was born in 1986. He is thus working between the role of a filmmaker and an artist. His works are in-between documentary and fiction, reality and supernatural. He questions the belief of virtue and ideal through sarcasm, illusions, and his own sense of humor. He is currently living and working in Bangkok.

孫知行 SUN Chih-Hsing
孫知行(b. 1994)，2015年國立臺北藝術大學美術系畢業，現就讀國立臺北藝術大學藝術跨領域研究所。以獨特的視點拼湊著一段段生活中/想象中的微小故事，推疊速度感的對比、空間的錯置、荒謬與理性等等多重的矛盾元素，營造出一個看似荒誕，實則在無稽之談中建立可信之處的實驗。在打破故事慣性的基礎上，探究著新命題––「認知上的誤會能不能成為一種認識文化的角度？」。曾獲得2019中國信託新銳美術獎、臺北藝術大學美術創作卓越獎等。
SUN Chih-Hsing (b. 1994), graduated from Taipei National University of the Arts in 2015, now studies at Graduate Institute of Trans-disciplinary Arts. His unique perspective pieces up little stories in everyday life and imagination, by layering contradictory elements between the sense of speed and the dislocation of space, absurdity and rationality, etc, creating credible experiments in this seeming absurdity. In breaking the foundation of conventional storytelling, SUN asks “could a cognitive misconception become a new perspective to understand culture?“. SUN has won various awards including CTBC Arts Award Taiwan 2019, Outstanding Art Prize of School of Fine Arts, Taiwan 2015.

Sid and Geri
於2017年由臺灣藝術家成立的藝術品牌「Sid and Geri」，於2018年取得美國視覺藝術學院藝術創作碩士學位，主要創作影像和裝置，並與各種不同文化背景、風格的人合作。透過各種媒介如影像、動畫、多媒體與空間裝置作品，擅長使用視覺效果強烈的畫面、幻想般的敘事和聲音刺激來顯示這個時代的荒誕， 不僅反映人們的日常生活經驗，也最先洞悉、攫取現實中人們尚未覺察的社會 問題。與知名歌手9m88合作的多首MV中〈九頭身日奈NINE HEAD HINANO〉在Youtube上已累積超過200萬觀看次數。曾獲得2020年TDCC當代藝術獎、Art Future Prize亞洲新星藝術獎。
Sid and Geri is an art group established in 2017. The group collaborates with different types of people around different cultures. By deploying various medium through video, animation, multi-media as well as space installation, their works show a unique sense of humor to express "the patterns around people", reflect the daily living experience, provide a fantasy-like narrative, by using visual and sound stimulation to show the absurd, frantic, and meaningless appearance of this era.

Witaya Junma
畢業於清邁大學美術學院，熱衷於使用新穎的方法創作，並在創作時探索各類科學。在他的作品中技術和機械作為創作的重要部分，對他來說， 機械是觀察或模仿自然而生，換言之即是生物的複製品，創造者則是人類。創造機械的目的是使生活更加便利，透過創作將機械帶入藝術世界中，賦予其與以往不同的角色，創造出新的藝術形式。Witaya Junma相信使用技術和機器將可以比傳統方式更有效地傳達藝術家的理念。2019年榮獲日本東京YouFab全 球創意大獎​​的Next STEAM特別獎，第25屆ifva獎銀獎​​-香港媒體藝術類。
As an artist, Witaya Junma is enthusiastic about applying fresh approaches to his art and also has explored various branches of science in creating his work. Technology and machinery have thus become a significant part of Witaya‘s art. To him, they are products of the observation or imitation of nature. In other words, they are replicas of living things, and their creator is us, humans. The main role of technology and the machine is to make our lives easier, however, if technology and machinery are offered a place in the art world and give them different roles, from telling stories to amplifying expressions, Witaya believes we can create new art forms. And if they are used wisely, technology and machines can help convey the artist’s objectives more effectively than convention.

Tulapop Saenjaroen
1986年生於泰國，取得倫敦大學斯萊德藝術學院（Slade School of Art）MFA in Fine Art Media及加州藝術大學（CalArts）MA in Aesthetics and Politics雙碩士學位的藝術家及電影製片人，現常駐於曼谷。關注在圖像與主體生產的關聯性，及晚期資本主義控制下自由的悖論。近期作品以近乎敘事和散文的形式呈現。透過重製重新讀取時產生的圖像及網絡，來探討關於旅遊、自我護理及自由勞動的議題。作品在各大國際藝術節中皆有放映。 包括Locarno Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Images Festival Toronto, Image Forum Tokyo，Moscow International Biennale for Young Art等。並獲得了瑞士、 印尼、俄羅斯和泰國等地的獎項。
Tulapop Saenjaroen was born in Thailand in 1986, who holds an MFA in Fine Art Media from the Slade School of Art and MA in Aesthetics and Politics from CalArts, is an artist and filmmaker based in Bangkok. His recent works interrogate the correlations between image production and production of subjectivity as well as the paradoxes intertwining control and freedom in late capitalism. In the combined narrative and essayistic manner, lurid and liquid, he lately investigates on subject matters such as tourism, self care, and free labor through re-making and re-reading the produced images and their networks.
