Easy Life : Yao Jui-Chung Solo Exhibition

疫情肆虐二年半，大多宅家悶得慌，要不上網追追劇，
抱抱貓貓或狗狗、叫叫外賣打牙祭，打打電動消體脂，
或往山林探秘境，露營烤肉泛舟去，賞賞星空偽出國，
臉戴口罩怕中鏢，孤獨宛若一輩子。
橫空出世元宇宙，戴上眼罩觀落陰，韋伯極深真宇宙，
爭睹地獄擠破頭，幽魂本在中陰生，何須獵奇自拍嗨?
寂寞空虛孤獨冷，羨慕嫉妒空餘恨，戶頭降至新低點，
無奈日子總要過，咬緊牙根盯螢幕，凡事求問股溝神，
烏俄超限戰未休，股海翻天心驚顫，眼睛老花黃斑變，
一機在手皆幻影，舉頭雖有滿月圓，朦朧迷霧世局詭，
如此人生太衰小，若說何時最逍遙，倆小無猜夢中見。

During the epidemic, most people stayed at home for a long time, feeling depressed and anxious. Life is nothing more than spending time on the Internet and video games, cuddling pets, ordering takeout for a great meal, or trying camping, barbecuing and rafting. We wear masks and live as if we’d be alone for the rest of our lives.
The sudden rise of the Metaverse has made us eager to keep up with the latest investment trends. People even flock to the exhibition to see what hell looks like, but what’s the point of following the craze for bizarre selfies? Under the pandemic, we often feel lonely, empty, and envy. Savings shrank quickly, but life goes on. Staring at the screen day and night, searching on Google for everything, the Russia-Ukraine War is still going on, the stock market is frightening, and excessive use of 3C products increases the risk of presbyopia and macular lesions. The world is still strange, but under the addiction of mobile phone, everything around life seems phantom. When life is difficult, only dreams are the happiest place.

姚瑞中 Yao Jui-Chung

台灣當代藝術家姚瑞中，1969年生於台北，1994年畢業於國立藝術學院(現國立台北藝術大學)美術系，目前任教於國立臺灣師範大學美術系。作品類型多元，橫跨攝影、繪畫、裝置藝術等領域， 擅長解構並穿插錯置不同時空與載體的文化符碼，以自身見解重新梳理社會脈絡。
其作品曾獲法國國家圖書館、澳洲昆士蘭美術館、美國康乃爾大學美術館等國內外單位典藏。曾參加威尼斯雙年展、澳洲亞太三年展、曼徹斯特亞洲藝術三年展、橫濱三年展、雪梨雙年展、上海双年展等展出。並為新加坡亞太藝術獎公眾獎、香港集群藝術獎及台灣台新藝術獎等獎項得主。

Yao Jui-Chung, a contemporary Taiwanese artist, was born in 1969 in Taipei. He graduated from the Fine Arts Department of the National Academy of Arts (now the Taipei National University of the Arts) in 1994 and currently teaches at the Fine Arts Department of National Taiwan Normal University. His works include photography, painting, installation art and other types. He is good at deconstructing and misplacing cultural codes of different time and carriers, and rearranging the social context with his own views.
His works have been collected by the National Library of France, Queensland Gallery of Modern Art of Australia, Cornell University Art Museum of the United States and other domestic and foreign units. He has exhibited in Venice Biennale, Australia Asia Pacific Triennial, Asia Triennial Manchester, Yokohama Triennial, Sydney Biennale, Shanghai Biennale, etc. He is also the winner of the Public Award of the Asia Pacific Art Awards in Singapore, The Multitude Art Prize in Hong Kong and the Taishin Arts Award in Taiwan.
