The “Tara” is considered to be the female Buddha, and the representation of compassion, action and protection. There are believed to be 21 taras (all of different virtues and strengths). I was inspired particularly by the Green Tara and her energy as she is often depicted with one foot a little lower than the other, indicating that she is always ready to step down and help those in need of her protection and compassion. Depictions of the green Tara are a common sight around Bhutan, in temples, paintings etc. and I wanted to find a way to depict my personal understanding of her compassionate and active energy.
