The eight Lucky Symbols are very common Buddhist symbols - the Golden Fish, the Conch Shell, the Golden Wheel, the Parasol, the Lotus flower, the Treasure Vase, the Eternal Knot and the Victory Banner. These eight lucky symbols can be seen as decoration and design on house wall paintings or even as a decoration on everyday objects like cupboards, cups and so on.
These simple but significant symbols have greater meaning and stories behind them. These eight lucky symbols represent the Buddha.
The treasure vase represents the wisdom, wealth, prosperity and ever flowing teaching of the Buddha and the dharma.
As the monk tries to spill over the bumpa or the treasure vase, one can fully understand the intention behind it. But is there no other way than to spill over the vase of wisdom to gain what’s in it.
