白田誉主也 Yoshuya Hakuta (1984~)
1984年日本茨城縣出生，現居台灣台中，2012年取得筑波大學人間綜合科學研究科藝術博士學位，專研膠彩繪畫，其展覽遍及歐亞地區，並受邀至多間美術館舉辦個展，如京都佐藤太清紀念美術館、秋田縣立美術館、上野の森美術館等。曾獲頒2016年VOCA展推薦作家、第77回河北美術展河北賞、筑波大學最優研究賞，作品收藏於佐藤太清紀念美術館、喜多方市美術館等藝術機構。
白田誉主也創作生涯長期以細膩的膠彩筆法描繪動物，藝術家運用其獨特的視角與感知，搭造如夢似幻的場景，動物們的身體語言透露著微妙訊息，牠們對於藝術家而言並不僅是寫生，也被同時投射為自身與他者，兼備了自畫像與社會觀察的雙重性質，給予畫面更富想像的敘事空間。而白田誉主也亦在傳統日本畫的系統中，不斷探詢更多的可能性，透過落水紙、岩繪具、水干繪具、鋁/金箔與墨的巧妙運用，交織出厚薄交錯的多變肌理與質感，和諧揉為一體，簡明又具有當代感的構圖，讓作品有更加順暢地與人心共鳴。
Yoshuya Hakuta was born in Ibaraki, Japan. Now lives in Taichung, Taiwan. He received an art doctorate degree in Fine Art and Design from the University of Tsukuba, in 2012. He specializes in Asian gouache paintings and his works have been exhibited across Europe and Asia, and the artist has been invited to hold solo exhibitions in various fine art museums, including the Sato Taisei Memorial Art Museum, Akita Museum of Art, and Ueno Royal Museum. Hakuta Yoshuya was also recommended at the 2016 VOCA exhibition and was the recipient of the Kahoku Award at the 77th Kahoku Art Exhibition and the best research award at the University of Tsukuba. The artist’s works have been collected by art institutions including Sato Taisei Memorial Museum and the Kitakata City Museum of Art.
He depicted animals with his signature eastern gouache paintings. The artist employed his unique perspective and sensibility to create ethereal scenes where the body languages of animals convey subtle messages. For the artist, these depictions of animals are more than life paintings but also serve as a projection of the self and others, simultaneously manifesting the duo qualities of self-portraiture and social observation while enriching the image's narrative. Hakuta Yoshuya also continues to explore further possibilities amid the realm of traditional Japanese paintings through the clever incorporations of craft paper, Iwaenogu, Suiengou, and aluminum/gold foil, weaving into rich changes in textures that remain balanced. The artist’s simplistic and starkly contemporary composition gives the works a quality that easily touches viewers' hearts.
