Originally built for a piano manufacturer, the building became home to a music conservatory in 1911. The Ehrbar Saal is exquisitely decorated in the Italian Renaissance style and possesses a beautiful acoustic. It played a significant role in the musical world of Vienna at the end of the 19th and early 20th Centuries, an era of great cultural sophistication, and premiered works by some of the leading musicians of the day.

Jennice Li-Ting Huang is a professional musician from Taiwan who holds degrees from Prayner Konzervatorium Vienna and the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Debussy's "Étude No. 11, Pour les arpèges composés" (Etude for compound arpeggios) is part of his set of twelve études composed between 1915 and 1917. These études are among the last pieces Debussy composed before his death in 1918.

Debussy's Étude No. 11 is characterized by its shimmering, cascading passages, which require pianists to navigate intricate fingerings and rapid shifts in hand position. The piece challenges performers to maintain clarity and precision while conveying the ethereal and impressionistic atmosphere for which Debussy is renowned.

The background of the Étude No. 11 lies in its technical challenges and musical exploration. It focuses on the intricate and complex nature of compound arpeggios, where multiple layers of arpeggios are interwoven, creating a rich and textured sound. This étude showcases Debussy's innovative approach to piano technique and his ability to create evocative and expressive music within a technical framework.

As with much of Debussy's music, the Étude No. 11 is filled with rich harmonies, colorful textures, and evocative imagery. It embodies the composer's fascination with exploring new sounds and pushing the boundaries of traditional piano technique. Through this étude, Debussy invites both performers and listeners into a world of sonic exploration and imaginative expression.

Jennice Huang’s recital is a perfect portrayal of her as a pianist who performs with elegance, grace, and depth. She captivates audiences with her emotive interpretations and technical precision. Her expertise in classical music is evident in her performances, which demonstrate her profound connection to the music she has mastered. One of her recent video performances of Debussy’s Etude nr.11 is truly astonishing, showcasing her incredible execution of the left-hand harmonies and her remarkable ability to stay true to the dynamics of the piece. Jennice Huang’s excellent rendition of classical pieces promises to be a breathtaking experience. While her proficiency and technical mastery are undeniable, Jennice is also able to express emotions authentically, staying true to the heart of the pieces she performs.
